A 27 year old female presented with increased vaginal bleeding. The patient gave history of normal vaginal delivery two and a half months back. USG : showed an ill defined mass in the uterine endometrium infiltrating the myometrium with increased flow signals. Differential of Choriocarcinoma / Invasive mole was suggested. Subsequently advised to undergo serum beta HCG which was markedly raised. A screening CT chest showed nodular lesions (image not shown here) representing metastases. CSF beta HCG was done and found to be markedly raised. Final diagnosis : Choriocarcinoma following normal pregnancy. Image courtesy : DrAyushGoel |
